Hailed by The New York Times as an “especially impressive fine young pianist," Richard Dowling appears regularly across the United States and throughout the world in orchestral performances, solo recitals and chamber music collaborations. Reviewers praise him as a “master of creating beautiful sounds with impeccable control of colors and textures,” and as “a musician with something to say, the skill to say it and the magnetic power to make you want to listen.” This is his debut with Tri-State.
2017 is the centennial observance of the passing of legendary composer and "King of Ragtime” Scott Joplin. On April 1, 2017, the exact date of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death in New York City, Richard Dowling became the first pianist in history to perform publicly the complete cycle of Joplin’s piano works in a pair of sold-out recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
$10 first timers and members — $20 general admission. Free for students with IDs and children with paying adult. Pay at the door — no advance sales or reservations.
